LABAL, LLC has developed vacation property on St. Thomas since 2003. We identify distressed properties in magnificent locations, and we develop them to the highest standards for luxury Villas. Villa Eau Claire is the sixth properties we have redeveloped. Virtually everything about the property was changed in the renovation, with the decoration done by Annika Black, who is a European-trained interior designer. We lived in the property for two years before we started to rent it in the vacation market, and the art on the property is ours. We maintain it regularly to keep the villa up to our standards, which are very high.
Magen's Bay is a very special place; widely regarded as the largest and most beautiful beach in the U.S. Virgin Islands, about one mile long and 10 to 20 yards wide, with great picnic areas, a large open bar, and a small restaurant that serves among the best hamburgers and pizza on St. Thomas. Magen's Bay gets its unusual character because the prevailing easterlies blow from the beach outward, creating a tranquil body of water that covers an entirely sand bottom bay, with no rip tides or major currents, and keeping Villa Eau Claire cool all year. The main Beach is one of the most small-children friendly bodies of water anywhere because of the lack of surf and currents.
Villa Eau Claire is the closest occupied villa to the main Magen Bay Beach, located less than a half mile walk away through shallow sandy water up the eastern or Peterborg side of the Bay. The house is located on a pocket sandy beach, just above a private deck that has a fresh water shower and lighting for evening use. Next door, less than 100 yards away, is Little Magen’s Beach, which is the only nude beach on St. Thomas. |
